H7C 43-inch 4K Ultra HD 60Hz Smart LED TV
Preface
Since I wasn’t able to do an actual hands-on review of the Hisense 43H7C, I instead chose to do what I call a product profile/review, which consists of info that is based on research I conducted before writing this article and compiled here in a condensed format to save you the time and effort it would take to gather the info yourself.
The end result of this product profile is to provide you with important and relevant info regarding this product.
First Impressions
Even though I did not do a hands-on review of the 43H7C, I was able to see a display model at a local big box store, and I must say I was quite surprised with the picture quality of the 4K demo content being displayed. It left me wondering if this really was an inexpensive budget brand TV. That’s just how good the image appeared to my eyes.
Sure, I know the 4K demo footage was designed to make this TV look its best on the showroom floor, so the picture image may not appear as vibrant and dynamic when you get it set up at home and view your own content; but I’m sure it will deliver very similar results when viewing your own 4K or 1080p content, whether it be via Blu-ray disc or streaming media sources.
Picture Quality
I was impressed with the 4K resolution on this TV. Images were rendered with plenty of detail and clarity. Color reproduction was also good for such an inexpensive TV, and for the most part, colors appeared natural and well saturated with a decent tonal balance.
Black levels were decent when viewed in images with bright highlights during nighttime or dimly lit scenes, which leads me to believe the contrast range on this TV isn’t all that bad. However, when viewing an image with a mostly black screen, the blacks appeared grayish in nature and not very deep or dark.
Overall, the picture quality of the 43H7C is pretty good for a low-cost budget brand TV, and I could personally live with this display in a small bedroom setup. It would also serve well in a dorm room setting.
Customer Reviews
During my research, I checked out a number of customer reviews on Amazon.com and found most of the comments to be very favorable in regard to the Hisense H7C model. See reviews here.
On the contrary, I would like to point out the biggest customer complaint about this TV, and that is its defect rate. Many consumers have reported that the TV does not initially turn on, or stops working after a very short time of use.
Many consumers also reported that Hisense’s customer support is unsatisfactory.
With that said, the majority of customers are very happy with this TV and rave about its picture quality.

is there bad input lag when playing video games?

I checked out some customer reviews and found that this TV performs well with gaming, so I assume it has decent input lag.
One Amazon Reviewer wrote, “As of a firmware update on Dec 22, 2016 the TV now supports HDR on the two high end HDMI ports (3 and 4). The TV initially only supported HDR through the USB port.
The only reason this TV gets 4 instead of 5 stars is that it has been advertised since at least July as an HDR TV, without saying that it was only through USB (ie wouldn’t work with PS4 Pro, XB1 S, UHD blu ray players, etc). However, several firmware updates have proven Hisense is dedicated to making their products better and correcting problems. I’ll always look to Hisense first whenever I need a new TV after this experience with this TV.”
