Pangea Audio Vulcan Turntable Stand Review

Pangea Audio Stand

A Quick Look

In this article, I’m taking a quick look at my Pangea Audio Vulcan Turntable Stand. While it’s designed primarily for turntables and vinyl storage, it’s versatile and sturdy enough to double as an amplifier rack—exactly how I’m using it.

The stand is impressively well-built. Its three-shelf configuration provides a rigid, stable platform on top for turntables or other gear, a middle shelf for additional components, and a specially designed bottom shelf capable of holding more than 100 vinyl records. Pangea also made the shelves modular, so you can add or remove tiers as needed. Assembly is also quick and easy.

In my setup, I’ve repurposed it as a dedicated amp rack for my home theater system. As shown in the photo above, the center shelf supports my Monoprice Monolith M51000X 5-channel amp, while the bottom shelf holds my 75-pound Rotel RMB-1095 5-channel amp. Despite the weight, the Vulcan stand handles it with ease, thanks to its 270-pound total load capacity.

I’m currently not using the top shelf for a turntable—even though I do own one, it’s taking a break in the closet—but who knows, I may eventually bring it back out and spin some vinyl again.

Update: On 11/28/25, I installed my Technics Direct Drive SL-DD2, which I have owned since the 1980s. I got everything up and running in a short period of time. This turntable still works flawlessly since the last time I used it back in 2014. It has a Shure RXT6 that which was made for Radio Shack and sold under the Realistic brand name. If you’re familiar with Radio Shack and their Realistic products, it should be obvious to you that I’ve had this Shure RXT6 cartridge and stylus for many years, since Radio Shack has long since gone out of business.

As I mentioned earlier, the turntable still works great, and I have started enjoying my vinyl collection again. There’s nothing like the sound of an analog LP.

Overall, I really like the clean look, solid construction, and compact size of the Pangea Audio Vulcan stand. It fits nicely into my room décor and performs well beyond its intended purpose. Highly recommended.
