An informative look at the performance of these QLED 4K HDR TVs
This is not an apple to apple comparison which was my intent. In this review, I wanted to point out and highlight what the advantages are of choosing the flagship model over a less expensive model in Samsung’s premium lineup of QLED 4K HDR TVs.

QN65Q7F & QN657C 120Hz Smart LED TVs
Samsung’s Q7 series features the entry-level models of their current premium lineup of which Samsung refers to as QLED quantum dot 4K Ultra HD TV displays. Samsung claims this latest technology is an improvement over last year’s quantum dot tech used in their former SUHD TVs.
MU8000 120Hz Smart LED TV
Samsung’s UN65MU8000 is part of the companies mid-tier line of televisions for 2017. The MU8000 is classified as a premium model and replaces last year’s premium SUHD KS8000 model. However, the MU8000 is not in the SUHD class which was last year’s top-tier lineup and has been replaced with the new QLED displays.

The price of 4K Ultra HDTVs has been steadily dropping since their introduction a few years ago. Even models with the latest HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology can be had at an affordable price, including the model under review here – Samsung’s 55″ KU7000 and is currently available for only $899.99.

Samsung’s KU6300 Series is very popular among consumers and has received very favorable customer reviews at a prominent online retailer. The current 6-Series lineup is available in a whopping seven screen sizes (40″, 43″, 50″, 55″, 60″, 65″ and 70″) with pricing starting at just under $550.00. The 6-Series also consist of the KU6500, KU6290 and KU6270 4K UHD TVs.
KS8500 Curved SUHD 120Hz Smart LED TV
I recently did a hands-on evaluation of the Samsung 55″ UN55KS8000 and the 65″ UN65KS8500 (this review). Both of these models are part of Samsung’s 8 Series for 2016. Furthermore, both of these models are technically identical. The only true difference is in their respective physical designs – the KS8500 has a curved screen – the KS8000 has a flat-screen.
