Bottom Line: The Hisense U75QG is a great 4K mini-LED TV offering exceptional picture quality at a great price and is available in extra-large screen sizes up to 100 inches. It also has excellent features and is a great TV for gaming with its 165Hz native refresh rate.

As far as any drawbacks, this TV does suffer from the typical contrast and color saturation loss when viewed at wide angles due to the use of a VA panel. You may also experience some slight blooming when viewing bright objects set against a black background. However, this is certainly not a deal breaker in my opinion.

I highly recommend this TV, which offers premium-class performance at a budget price point. Hisense’s premium models deliver some of the best picture quality compared to any other brands on the market, and this was certainly obvious when viewing the U75QG.

Intro

Hisense TVs have made a name for themselves worldwide, including the US market. Their TVs have seen substantial gains in performance and features, and it truly shows in Hisense’s premium TVs’ picture quality, including the TV in this review, the U75QG.

Hisense is now one of the top-selling TV brands globally. I found 2025 data that states Hisense ranks number 4 in sales globally with a 15% market share and sits below Samsung (28%), LG (22%), and TCL (18%) in market share. Hisense even beats out Sony, which holds a 12% market share.

The U75QG is part of Hisense’s premium series 2025 television lineup, which consists of the U6, U7, U8, U9, and 116UX TVs.

The Hisense U75QG is available in 55”, 65”, 75”, 85”, and 100-inch screen sizes. The 65” model is the focus of this review. Hisense claims this model uses a VA panel and has 1800 dimming zones.

Design & Features

When viewed from the front, the U75QG has a sleek design with thin bezels. The screen has a glossy finish that gives on-screen images that extra dynamic pop, which I like. The panel is illuminated with full-array mini-LEDs with local dimming. When viewed from the side, the panel is a bit thick and measures approximately 2.8 inches deep. I attribute this thickness to the TV’s mini-LED panel technology.Hisense U75QG

The TV’s back panel is made of plastic and has good overall build quality. The TV uses a plastic center mount pedestal stand and gives the TV decent stability, although with some panel wobble, yet nothing to be overly concerned about.

Key features of the U75QG include Hisense’s Mini-LED Pro for precise control over the 1800 dimming zones. This feature also allows for deeper black levels and shadows in addition to brighter highlights, and is supposed to virtually eliminate halos/blooming.

For processing, this TV uses Hisense’s Hi-View AI Engine Pro. Hi-View Al Engine Pro automatically optimizes the picture and sound based on the content on screen. This intelligent feature detects, analyzes, and adjusts the details, depth, and appearance of everything you watch or play, making visuals even more realistic.

The U75QG has a 165Hz native refresh rate panel and allows for some great features, such as turbo power 165Hz Game Mode Ultra with a variable refresh rate (VRR) of 48Hz to 165Hz. There’s also AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Auto Low Latency Mode, and Low Latency MEMC to eliminate screen tearing and controller lag. Furthermore, a new Game Bar is allowing you to control multiple game settings right from your TV remote and on-screen display.

The U75QG uses quantum dot QLED color technology for vibrant and more realistic color reproduction. The TV’s panel has anti-reflection technology to help minimize room lighting glare and reflections on the screen, regardless of the room’s lighting conditions.

For sound quality, this TV has a 2.1.2 Multi-Channel Surround audio system with a left and right channel, a built-in subwoofer, and two up-firing speakers for Dolby Atmos audio processing.

For smart TV viewing, this TV is equipped with the Google TV smart TV platform. The popular interface brings together movies, shows, and more from all of your subscription services and organizes them for you, and gets curated recommendations. Additionally, you can use Google’s search capabilities to find content across 10,000-plus apps or browse hundreds of free channels. The Google TV interface is intuitive and easy to use.

Performance

Now, moving on to performance. This is where the Hisense U75QG5 truly impresses, especially for its budget-friendly price. This TV rivals and even surpasses the performance of name-brand TVs from Samsung and Sony, according to some YouTube comparison reviews.

That being said, my own visual impressions of this TV produced excellent performance. It’s hard to believe this is a low-cost budget brand TV.

Its contrast is simply remarkable. This allowed the TV to produce great dynamic range, deliver very deep black levels, and eye-popping bright highlights. And speaking of brightness, this TV has awesome peak brightness output with both SDR and HDR content. This level of performance will deliver optimal HDR images with the right content. You will see impressive specular highlights enabling an enjoyable HDR viewing experience.

*HDR peak brightness output: 10% window 2,925 nits
*SDR peak brightness output: 10% window 2.790 nits

Color reproduction was also very impressive with SDR content. Colors were punchy and vibrant, delivering an accurate and realistic color palette. HDR color rendering was also good out of the box, but not as accurate as SDR color rendering. This, however, can be remedied with a calibration. But I assume most people purchasing this affordable TV will not be willing to spend the extra money for professional calibration. Nevertheless, you can do a basic calibration yourself using a Spears & Munsil 4K calibration disc, which will improve the picture quality.

Picture detail and clarity were great on the U75QG. Images of outdoor scenes were sharp and refined with decent amounts of fine texture in close-up shots of foliage and objects in cityscapes.

Motion handling: When viewing regular content, this TV delivered smooth, blur-free motion when watching most fast-action content.

Input lag was excellent on this display: approximately 11.0 ms with 1080p signals @ 60Hz and approximately 10.0 ms with 4K signals @ 60Hz. With 1080p and 4K signals @ 120Hz, input lag is approximately. 5.0 ms.

Up next, sound quality. This TV delivered good audio quality for a flat panel TV, thanks to its multi-speaker audio system. The TV has good sound stage separation, which can be attributed to the TV’s left and right speakers, and the sound can sometimes be somewhat enveloping thanks to the up-firing speaker. Dialogue was also clean and articulated. The TV produced some decent bass impact for a flat panel TV, which was made possible by the TV’s subwoofer. Overall, the U75QG delivered solid audio performance.

So, what about the drawbacks of the U75QG? Well, not surprisingly, this TV suffers from picture degradation in the form of contrast and color saturation loss when viewed at wide angles, which is commonly seen in TVs that use VA panels. So extra care should be taken when placing the TV in your viewing environment to achieve the best viewing experience.

Another concern is that you may encounter some slight blooming/haloing in scenes where bright objects are set against a black background. This, however, is not a deal breaker in my opinion.

Conclusion

The Hisense U75QG 4K TV is one of the best premium-performing budget TVs currently available; in fact, it delivers some of the best picture quality of any TV on the market, regardless of price, in my opinion. And that’s saying a lot to just how great this TV performs. I was very impressed.

Then, add to the mix that the U75QG can be obtained at a very affordable price point, making this TV one of the best bangs for your buck options on the market. Its overall picture quality is that good.

So, if you haven’t checked out this TV, I highly recommend that you do.
