Premium 4K Ultra HD Universal Disc Players
Reavon is part of a French company called Groupe Archisoft. They are a newcomer to the Blu-ray player market and recently introduced two new players. The models consist of the UBR-X100 and the UBR-X200. Both units are claimed to be universal players. However, in my opinion, a true universal player should play the current and past physical video media; it should also support current and past physical audio media as well. That being said, the UBR-X100 doesn’t support SACD or DVD-Audio discs which I personally still own. However, the XBR-X200 does support SACD playback and was just recently updated to play back DVD-Audio discs as well. This makes the UBR-X200 a true universal player, in my opinion.
Since these two players were announced and are now available, there has been much talk about whether or not these units will take the place and fill the void left by Oppo when they stopped producing Blu-ray players in 2018. Oppo disc players were one of the most highly regarded brands on the market and for good reason considering they offered exceptional performance in both video and audio playback. Although Oppo is no longer manufacturing disc players, they still remain my favorite brand and I have owned their players in the past.
So only time will tell how well the Reavon players are received by the individuals looking for a high-end Blu-ray disc player that can meet and rival the performance of Oppo. That being said, I look forward to checking out Reavon’s Blu-ray players.

TOROIDAL TRANSFORMER
The UBR-X200 is powered by a toroidal transformer that features low noise and low electromagnetic interference. This is thanks mainly in part to its shape and symmetry. The amount of magnetic flux that escapes outside the core is low and contained within the donut shape. The result is lower audio distortion and degradation to the sound quality, therefore ensuring that the resulting sound is clean and accurate.
