A Walmart spokeswoman confirmed the product is in the works, but did not disclose pricing for the device, or when it would be released.
Apple leads the tablet market, followed by Samsung and then Amazon. Hopefully, Walmart’s intro into the tablet business may help to boost sales in the now sluggish tablet industry, which has been in decline for several years. In 2018 tablet shipments fell 6.2 percent according to data tracker Strategy Analytics.
It remains to be seen if Walmart’s upcoming tablet will be a big hit for the retailer, let alone the tablet industry as a whole. Stay tuned for more info.
